Dog Walking Trails Near Highlands Reserve
Hello Everyone
I’m Fudge and I’m part of the Berry Family. They keep going to this Disavillatee place in Florida and leaving me with sitters at home in Northern Ireland. I wish I could go with them but they tell me its too far for a little dog like me to travel. My Mom and Grandma tell me about all these lovely places that I would enjoy and I’m going to share them with you and your fur babies and hope you all enjoy them as much as my family do

The first place they go is the North East Regional Park. The North East Regional Park is situated on the US27 just 2.5 miles north of Disavillatee. The Dog Park is a fenced in Dog Park and has separate areas for large and small dogs with grass to play and run on and water for us pups to keep us hydrated while we are playing. There’s agility items and also a shady picnic area for your family to relax
Lake Louisa State Park in Clermont is 11.5 miles north of Disavillatee on the US27. There’s 20miles of unpaved trails to explore and all a half mile nature trail at the parking lot but i hear dogs have to be on a leash shorter than 6 feet and we aren’t allowed in the lake – maybe there are gators in it??? . The park is open from 8am to sunset daily
The Lake Apopka Wild Life Drive is 45 minutes north of Disavillatee travelling by FL429N. It’s a pet friendly scenic drive through Florida’s back country but is only open weekends and holidays. Theres an audio tour on the website . You can make lots of stops to enjoy the wildlife such as gators snakes turtles and birds of prey. Keep your dog on the leash in the car and on a close leash when stopped for potty breaks
Just off the I4 E, close to Universal Orlando is the Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake . There are hiking trails , games and a butterfly garden
Lots more information can be obtained at the Central Florida Visitor Information Center att he junction of I4 and US27. The staff love to tell about the area’s attractions and facilities. Pups on a leash are welcome in the Visitor Center
I’ll be back soon to tell you about other things my humans say I would love to do but then leave me at home!!
